lilien pharmacy in erfurt

renovation 2005

The residential and commercial building is in the historical Erfurt city centre, in the row of houses east of the Domplatz. Two shops were previously set up on the ground floor, which today houses the pharmacy. A dividing wall not originating from the time the building was erected separated the two units.

The original beams and cast-iron props were laid bare in the course of combining the two shop areas. The false ceiling was installed so that beams remained visible; the light concept makes conscious play of this. The newly built display windows with profiles to accord with the listed status of the building harmonise with the venerable façade image.

A modern automated pharmacy dispensing system has been installed in a tight space in the basement for automated goods handling and optimal stock-keeping of the medicines, and conveys the ordered medications fully automatically to the pharmacy checkout.
